“Because f**king Virginia Woolf wrote my biography in 1928.”
So begins Paul B. Preciado’s award-winning documentary, Orlando, My Political Biography. In this experimental and joyous film, the philosopher-turned-director organizes a "casting call" where over twenty trans and non-binary individuals assume the role of Orlando.
By weaving their own life stories with scenes from Woolf's novel, the film transforms the 1928 classic into a living, breathing collective biography. It is a poetic odyssey that moves between historical analysis and contemporary activism, celebrating the resilience and creativity of trans lives today.
