The Odd Couple premiered on Broadway in 1965, featuring Walter Matthau and Art Carney as the unlikely pair of roommates, shacking up with each other after their respective divorces. The play has been reimagined with an all-women cast (1985) and an all-black cast (1968), as well as a renowned and beloved television series in the 1970s, starring Jack Klugman, as the slovenly sportswriter, and Tony Randall, as the neurotic neat, fastidious Felix Ungar. The play continues to be produced, throughout the world.
